- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should understand this topics - basic biochemical separation and analytical methods. Principles, instrumentation, and use. Oriented mainly towards routine applications.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction. Objects of biochemical study, their characteristics and specific properties. Basic principles of treatment.
- 2. Analytical aspects of separation methods. Chromatography.
- 3. Mass spectroscopy. Types, instrumentation, application.
- 4. Spectral methods. Atomic spectroscopy.
- 5. UV-Vis photometry. Principles, limitations, instrumentation.
- 6. Fluorimetry, application in biochemistry. Instruments, limitation.
- 7. Disperse methods, chiral environment.
- 8. Electromigration methods, types. Electrophoresis, types, matrices, practice.
- 9. Electrochemical methods. Potentiometry and amperometry.
- 10. Ion selective electrodes, types, measurement, application in biochemistry.
- 11. Amperometry, polarography and voltammetry. Biochemical application.
- 12. Immunochemical methods, representatives, application.
- 13. Other methods. Osmometry.
- 14. Principles of statistical evaluation.
