Course objectives
At the end of the course students of biochemistry ahould have the basic knowledges of biology, histology, cytology and zoology that is necessary for their next learning.
Syllabus
  • 1. Cell, cell theory, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell, plant and animal cell, cell structures and their functions: cell wall, cytoplasmatic membrane, membrane transport. 2. Cell structures and their functions: endoplasmatic reticulum, Golgi complex, lysosomes, peroxisomes, vacuoles, mitochondria, chloroplast, cytoskeleton. 3. Cell nucleus, DNA, cell cycle, mitosis and meiosis, replication, transcription, translation, signal transduction, regulation of expression. 4. Viruses, their system, characteristics and structure. 5. Protozoa and fungi, their system, characteristics and structure. 6. Bacteria, their system and metabolism, characteristics and structure. 7. Plants, plant tissues, plant organs, molecular systematics of plants. 8. Animal tissues - epithelial, nervous, muscular and connective tissues.
