- Prerequisites
- Knowledge of botany equal to secondary school level.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Ecological and Evolutionary Biology (programme PřF, B-EKB)
- Course objectives
- Plant morphology describes vegetative (root, stem, leaf) and generative (flower, seed, fruit) structures of angiosperms, in some parts also compared with equal structures of other divisions, especially gymnosperms. Lectures are aimed at first at their description, but also evolutional changes, environmental adaptations, and processes of ontogenesis are monitored here.
- Learning outcomes
- Graduate of the course should obtain the knowledge of:
basic information about the plant body (cormus) and its particular organs;
terminology for description of plant structures and life processes;
understanding of evolutionary consequencies based on comparison of various plant groups. - Syllabus
