Course objectives
Pedagogical activity with gifted students builds on the pedagogical and psychological knowledge that was acquired in the previous stages of the study. The seminar will introduce students to the key concepts of talent and giftedness. It will also focus on the identification of gifted children and their subsequent care in primary schools.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - define the basic concepts related to the education of gifted and exceptionally gifted students. - evaluate the legislative and educational system for gifted and exceptionally gifted pupils. - apply procedures for pedagogical diagnosis of giftedness and pedagogical work with gifted pupils. - to design supporting didactic materials for gifted pupils. - implement and verify supporting educational resources for gifted students. - apply inclusive education strategies in the primary school classroom.
Syllabus
  • - The development of the issue of talent. - Concepts of giftedness and talent, models of giftedness, legislative anchoring of the issue. - Methods of identifying the gift and talent of a pupil in the 1st grade of elementary school. - Personality of the gifted student in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor areas. - Specific educational needs of gifted pupils in the 1st grade of elementary school. - Modification of the curriculum of gifted students in the field of educational goals, educational methods, educational environment and evaluation, including self-evaluation. - Inclusive education of a gifted student in the conditions of a regular elementary school class. - Teacher of a gifted student.

Teaching methods
Methods of frontal teaching, group work, teaching in the field, teaching simulating a real environment, flipped learning, blended learning, problem-based learning, case-based learning.
Assessment methods
1. Elaboration of preparation for a lesson in which a gifted student finds himself (any topic). 2. Creating a portfolio with suggestions for individual activities from any field for a gifted student (puzzles, crosswords, puzzles, double assignment, graded tasks).
