- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is the basic orientation of the first-year student in geographic and cartographic work, supplemented by examples from individual researches in practice. Furthermore, the application of simple principles and methods of measurement, as well as space for cooperation between students and the creation of functional relationships within the collective, which offer mutual support and seek academic success. During the social evening, they can take part in a quiz for interesting prizes.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will have:
- basic orientation in the methods of geographical and cartographic research in the field;
- know the structure and principles of university studies;
- get to know the group of classmates, to create functional working relationships within the student group leading to increase academic success. - Syllabus

- Presentations by teachers/professionals in the field, field work, discussion, lectures.
- Assessment methods
- Active participation in the entire course, and compliance necessary with work safety principles, completing the feedback questionnaire. If participation is not possible for health reasons, the completion of a substitute homework.
