- Course objectives
- The students will learn how to work on computers in the computer lab at the Department of Mathematics and the fundamentals of the operating system Linux; they will learn how to use basic Internet services; learn the basics of computer security; create web pages in HTML; work with the computer typesetting system Latex; work with the computer algebra systems.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- work on computers with the operating system Linux;
- create web pages in HTML;
- critically evaluate the risks associated with crime on Internet and secure their computer against these threats;
- use application programs and web services while studying mathematics;
- effectively search in electronic information sources related to mathematics. - Syllabus

- Teaching in this semester will be full-time - practical work on computers in the computer room at ÚMS.
- Assessment methods
- At each class exercise (in the computer lab) should be solved a set of tasks. Two credit tests -- solving of given tasks at a computer -- 50% of correct answers is needed to pass.
