- Practical Training
The practical training is an obligatory part of the curriculum for this field to the extent of 12 weeks. The practical training has to be connected to the content of the curriculum. Its content will be set at the beginning of semester and approved by the guarantor of the course Practical training. It should support the work on the final thesis. The practical training represents 16 credits, and it can be completed within one semester or spread throughout the entire studies piece by piece. It is recommended to choose the practical training at the end of the curriculum to complement and support the work on the final thesis.
- Goals of Theses
Elaboration of the final thesis of about 30-35 pages should verify the ability of students to apply a problem-oriented approach, primarily to businesses. That means the ability to set an objective; to define a problem to solve; to offer acceptable and sufficient arguments for steps proposed to achieve the goal; to define and evaluate data and information necessary for the achievement of the goal; and to set methods how to acquire the data, analyse it and evaluate the results. On this basis, students should be able to propose a specific solution, if possible feasible and with alternatives, leading to the problem resolution or to reaching of the goal. Further, it is necessary to propose an implementation plan and, if possible, introduce the measures into practice, assess their effect and document possible difference between the plan and the reality. In case the implementation is not feasible before the thesis submission, it is necessary to elaborate a detailed plan of implementation and procedure of effectiveness verification. The final thesis will include a statement from the business about the implementation and effect of implemented measures or explanation, why is such a statement missing. The aim of the final thesis and its practical outputs will be interconnected with the course Working Experience, which content and form will be set in cooperation with the thesis supervisor. The student will choose a company, where (s)he works, which (s)he owns or which will agree to cooperate. The critical criteria for thesis evaluation are the expertise applied, e.g. use of knowledge and skills acquired through the study program, correct application of acknowledged and appropriate methods, and the actual benefits for the company.
