- Course objectives
- This course, based on video screenings of selected Czech films in the full version and with English subtitles, examines key periods in the history of Czech cinema and the typical styles and genres that have won such acclaim for Czech films internationally.

- 1. Introduction to the history of Czech cinema 2. Věra Chytilová: Daisies (Sedmikrásky, 1966) 3. Miloš Forman: Loves of a Blonde (A Blonde in Love – Lásky jedné plavovlásky, 1965) 4. Miloš Forman: The Firemen s Ball (Hoří, má panenko, 1967) 5. Jiří Menzel: Closely Watched Trains (Ostře sledované vlaky, 1966). 6. Vojtěch Jasný: When the Cat Comes (aka Cassandra Cat - Až přijde kocour, 1963) 7. Vojtěch Jasný: All My Good Countrymen (Všichni dobří rodáci, 1968) 8. František Vláčil: Marketa Lazarová, 1967) 9. Ján Kadár, Elmar Klos: The Shop on Main Street (Obchod na korze, 1965) 10. Otakar Vávra: Witches Hammer (Kladivo na čarodějnice, 1969) 11. Václav Vorlíček: The Girl on the Broomstick (Dívka na koštěti, 1971)
