- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to provide students with necessary knowledge connected with the given problem area and special terminology. The course also makes them familiar with basic terms of public policy, civic society and non-profit organizations.
The content of this subject will serve as a basis for further theoretically and practically oriented courses dealing with the topic of non-profit organizations. The main objectives are to show the possible forms of relations between the market, state and third sector subjects; emphasis is put on an alternative definition of the individual-society relationship.
The exploration of these problems draws on the works of notable Czech and foreign authors. The basic problem concepts of this course include such concepts as civic society, human capital and human potential, altruism and philanthropy, or non-profitability. The theory of non-profit non-governmental organizations and their role in the modern state is broadly discussed, as well as the history of the development of their status. - Syllabus
