Course objectives
Labor Economics is an advanced course focused on particular subjects of the labor market. The course follows up the microeconomics intermediate level course. The aim of this course is to extend the students' knowledge in the sphere of the labor market and to provide students with tools for an analysis of the behavior of the labor market. At the end of this course, students should (among other things) be able to explain equilibrium formation on the labor market, to understand factors determining wages and unemployment, and to analyze independently impacts of government policy, actions of unions and various exogenous factors as technological changes or population aging on the labor market.

Assessment methods
Subject is concluded with a written test. The minimum demanded for passing successfully is 60% of total value. Students are obligated to attend the seminars and to prepare a semester paper. Rating of the semester paper is 0-100%. The final exam result consists of 80% of the written test evaluation and 20% of the semester paper evaluation.
