! PFBAMA Bank Management
The course is aimed at enhancing knowledge of banking sector, concretely in the field of bank management. Its content and structure have been prepared from perspective of bank management, management of bank balance sheet, expenses and revenues, foundations of banking marketing with more detailed focus on individual risk management of banking business. Students will gain general overview of bank management. Completion of basic courses is therefore necessary, because the experience gained there are used in Bank Economy and Management course.

Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand bank management and explain mechanism of bank management, manage bank balance sheet, expenses and revenues, create marketing plan of bank, evaluate quality of banking facilities, manage bank risks.

  • Theme plan and content focus of lectures and seminars(according to weeks of semester): 1) Bank as a business entity 2) Substance, importance, objectives and management content of banking economy 3) Management bank balance sheet, assets and liabilities 4) Economy of expenses and revenues management in bank 5) Quality of banking services 6) Marketing in economic management of bank – role of client in bank marketing 7) Strategy of products and services in banks and price setting of banking products and services 8) Communication and distribution of banking services 9) Introduction to Risk Management 10) Risk management of interest rates movement and currency risk 11) Liquidity and capital risk management 12) Management of securities portfolio and off-balance sheet items 13) Management of operational risk and bank branch

Teaching methods
Attendance at lectures, submission of seminar paper, checks tests, final written test and exam.
Assessment methods
1. The in-term tests in seminars will be taken in weeks 6 and 12 of the semester. If a student cannot attend a test (apologies will be judged by tutor), writes a test in spare term during the last week of semester or at the beginning of examination period. Evaluation of alternate seminar test will be consistent with the evaluation of check seminar tests. 2. Evaluation of seminar work Evaluation of seminar work is pass or fail. 3. Final evaluation of students´ results of in seminars. -Students are allowed to take the exam (written) after the following requirements have been met: a) successful completion of seminar check tests- achieved rating of 66% or more (2/3 or more). b) elaboration, submission and presentation of seminar paper on the entered topic with the evaluation of pass. - Evaluation of the preparation and knowledge from seminars takes effect by maximum rate of 20% in the final mark. 4. Exam and final evaluation: Exam is written. Final mark consists of: Evaluation of the written exam (80%) + final evaluation of results of the work done in seminars (20%) To evaluate performance of students, the following scale (common to full-time and combined studies) is applied: A 92 - 100% B 84 - 91% C 76 - 83% D 68 - 75% E 60 - 67% F less than 60%
