Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: use an appropriate level of formality for a given writing task; express their ideas clearly in a way suitable for academic writing (avoiding informal expressions, using advanced grammatical features - passives, inversion etc., complex sentence structure); compose well-structured paragraphs; use punctuation appropriately and effectively; organize academic essays in a logical and coherent way; avoid plagiarism; provide a consistent list of references in one of the internationally accepted styles (e.g. Chicago, MLA, APA).
