Course objectives
The subject "Clinical Kinesiology I." follows more general antecedent subject of "Kinesiology" and others (esp. Physiology, Neurophysiology and Anatomy). Clinical Kinesiology applies principles of afore mentioned subjects with focus on lower extremity. The main aim is to understand relations within kinesiology on the local level of lower extremity as well as its impact on the whole body. Active and passive segmental stability is explained in detail as well as clinical reasoning of functional and structural pathology. Succesful students will be able to apply acquired theoretical knowledge in practical diagnostics and therapy and to further develop their skills in the following course "Fundamentals of diagnostic and therapy of locomotor system disorders I. - IV.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to Clinical Kinesiology. Kinesiology of foot – function, joints, arches, passive and active segmental stability, clinical aspects, funkctional and structural pathology. Kinesiology of knee – function, passive and active segmental stability, clinical aspects, funkctional and structural pathology. Kinesiology of hip – function, passive and active segmental stability, clinical aspects, funkctional and structural pathology. Kinesiology of pelvic floor. Kinesiology of lower limb from the global gross motor patterns point of view.
