Course objectives
The aim of subject Specialization Track and Field I is provide more detail theoretical knowledge (physiology, anatomy, biomechanics history) and theoretical knowledge about methods of training Track and Field events and training practical skills:
  • the correct technique of drive and stride phase of running,
  • hurdle running,
  • long jump,
  • high jump.
  • The another aim is provide theoretical knowledge about children and youth training.
  • Learning outcomes
    After successful completion of the subject Specialization of Track and Field I student will be able to:
  • to demonstrate the correct technique of running (drive and stride phase of running), hurdle running, relays, high jump, long jump,
  • to identify basic mistakes in the technique of mentioned events
  • to manage methods of training running and jumping events,
  • interpret basic of training of youth and methods of training running and jumping events.

    • Gist:
    • 1. Introduction to the subject. History of Track and Field. Organzation of Track and Field in system of society. Information systems. (lierature, www. pages, databases, anotation).
    • 2. Physiological basic of Track and Field training.
    • 3. Theory of structure of sports perfomance.
    • 4. The structure of sports perfomance of sprints, mid distance and long distance running.
    • 5. Methods of training of sprints, of sprints, mid distance and long distance running.
    • 6. The structure of sports perfomance of hurdle running.
    • 7. Methods of training of hurdle running
    • 8. The structure of sports perfomance of race walks and relays.
    • 9. Methods of training of relays and race walk.
    • 10. The structure of sports perfomance of long jump and high jump.
    • 11. Methods of training of long jump and high jump.

    Teaching methods
    Practical excersise will be in athletic stadium and theoretical knowledge will be like lecture.
    Assessment methods
    Credits are awarded based on student successfully passing the final written test and the active participate in lessons. (90 %). Test is consists from 15 questions. (a, b, c), (15 points).For successfully passing student have to 10 points.
