Prerequisite for the course is completion of n4111 (np/nk4111) Introduction to Pedagogical Practice. The course np/nk4121 Reflection on Practice 1, which is closely linked to the course of pedagogical practice, is expected to be taken concurrently with this course.

Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to comprehensively and systematically develop the prerequisites and professional competencies of students of teaching for the work of a teacher. This aim is fulfilled through supervision, consultation and actual teaching under the guidance of a supervising teacher. In addition to the actual practical experience of teaching, sharing, mentoring and reflection are key elements of pedagogical practice. The sub-objectives of the course include broadening the students' experience of the work of a teacher in a primary and lower secondary school and deepening their knowledge and skills in the main areas of their work, such as pedagogical activities, school legislation, reflection on teaching, rights and obligations of a teacher, etc. Other sub-objectives are linking theoretical knowledge and practical skills from theoretical and practical teaching with practice and systematically grasping one's own professional development.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, students will:
­identify and explain organisational and pedagogical processes in the school
­explain the pedagogical activities of the teacher in the preparation, teaching and evaluation of teaching, relate to them the procedures in accordance with the organisational and pedagogical processes of the school and analyse their relation to the rights and obligations of the teacher, student and parent
­plan, prepare, teaching and evaluate a physical education lesson
­apply their theoretical pedagogical knowledge and skills in their own teaching
­analyse the teaching process from the teacher's and student's perspective
­work in accordance with school legislation and relevant pedagogical documentation
­systematically reflect on their own pedagogical work and the development of their professional competencies
Syllabus
  • 1. Organisation of the primary and lower secondary school and the teaching process, rights and obligations of the teacher, student and parent.
  • 2. Teacher's pedagogical activities in phases of the teaching process.
  • 3. Supervision and reflection of lessons by the supervising teacher or another student.
  • 4. Tandem (pair) teaching with the supervising teacher or the other student.
  • 5. Teaching of lesson.
  • 6. In collaboration with the supervising teacher and the faculty expert, reflection on own teaching with regard to the competence framework of the graduate teacher.
  • 7. Preparation of documents for the needs of the subject of teaching practice.
