Anatomy 1 - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Physiotherapy (programme FSpS, B-F) (2)
- Course objectives
- The subject is based on previous study of Kinesiology, Algesiology and derived Techniques of Diagnostics and Therapy 1 and further focuses on diagnostics and therapy of muscle tonus and strength and neuro-diagnostics including pain. Therapeutic interventions cover principles of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation as well as methods for muscle strength training in sports. causal relations and general principles of kinesiology. The main aim of the subject is understanding of causal relation and general principles of kinesiology. Acquired knowledge is applied to specific diagnostic and treatment techniques in the field of physiotherapy.
- Learning outcomes
- Successful completion of the subject guarantees student's ability to:
- understand kinesiology relations
- understand principles of special examination and therapy techniques.
- diagnose pathology, select appropriate treatment modality, execute treatment within subject extent
- students will also be able to educate patients incl. instructions on self-therapy
- the study of this subject prepares students to clinical activities with patients - Syllabus
- Lectures:
- 01. General principles of human motor control.
- 02. Cortical level of motor control incl. neuro-facilitation and inhibition methods.

- Teaching methods
- Students will be exposed to the subject in a form of a lecture that will be followed by practical seminar. These seminars focus on manual techniques of examination and therapy. Students are organized in small groups. Each particular technique is first demonstrated by experienced tutors. Practical training is on peer to peer basis under close supervision of tutors and correction of precise technique.
- Assessment methods
- In order to be admitted to the practical exam, it is necessary to meet sufficient attendance and tests scores. - attendance: 100% participation in classes (according to the study and examination regulations, 1 absence is allowed) - 70% point gain from tests (calculated from the score of the best one from the seminar group), in case of failure, credit test (1 attempt), must have min. 80 % score of maximum test points. - after fulfilling the conditions (attendance + tests) admission to the practical exam
