Kurs je koncipován jako přehled teorií moderních vztahů v podobě, v jaké se vyvíjejí od 80. let 20. století. Jeho cílem je interaktivní metodou seznámit studenty s hlavními vývojovými trendy v oblasti teorií mezinárodních vztahů, základní charakteristikou moderních teorií a některými aktuálními problémy. Studenti by se v průběhu kursu měli rovněž naučit samostatné reflexi moderních teorií a problémů, které jsou v jejich rámci akcentovány.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Výstupy kursu 1) Aktivní účast na diskusích s tím, že studenti, kteří v semináři nemají presentaci, vypracují komentář na presentace zadané na příslušný termín (stačí bodově, ne více než jedna strana). Povolena je pouze jedna absence na semináři. 2) Presentace: každý ze studentů má dvě presentace (o délce cca 10 minut), obsahem je kritika či analýza vybrané teorie nebo její části, resp. aplikace vybrané teorie či přístupu na konkrétní problém současné mezinárodní politiky. Presentace se vkládají do IS nejpozději tři dny před příslušným seminářem. Detaily budou sděleny ústně na prvním setkání. 3) Seminární práce: má charakter analýzy vybraného problému, téma se musí vztahovat k obsahu kursu, zadání nahlásit do 13. 11. Rozsah cca deset stran.
