- Course objectives (in Czech)
- The goal of the course is to get students acquainted with research design, conceptualization, and qualitative methods in political science. After having completed the course, students will be able to design a research project, as well as use qualitative, case-based research methodology.

- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Students are required to prepare their dissertation research proposals and write one position paper for the second seminar. Students are required to submit their research proposals by May 20, 2011. The paper must be typewritten, single-spaced, and at least eight pages long. The position paper must discuss all the assigned readings. It is due three working days before the second seminar. The position paper must be typewritten, single-spaced, and at least two pages long. There are two seminars in the course; they are compulsory. If you cannot attend, you will be assigned an additional position paper.
