Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce the technique of qualitative interviewing – focus groups. The students will learn how to design and how to plan the research based on the technique of focus groups, they will learn about critical components for conducting successful focus group research and will practice key skills, and they will learn how to analyze data.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to:
- develop a plan for a focus group study
- recruit participants and to construct a sample
- host and lead a focus group
- develop a focus group questioning route
- choose among strategies for analyzing focus group data
