Course objectives
The aim of the course is to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral.
Syllabus
  • Topics for reading comprehension, assisted discussion and terminology 1. Introduction - programme of the course, literature, discussion on curriculum vitae 2. International private law 3. Company law - limited company, partnership, limited partnership 4. Judiciary - a court, organization of courts, legalese 5. Judiciary - the system of courts in Germany 6. Civil and criminal procedure 7. Seminar work on civil and criminal procedure 8. Course of a criminal procedure: the role of state authorities in the course of a three - instance criminal procedure 9. Juvenile criminal law - criminal liability of children and juveniles, consequences of criminal acts of juveniles 10.Juvenile criminal law: listening: the rehabilitative function of juvenile criminal law 11.Indirect speech in German legalese 12.Final test
