Course objectives
The course gives the basic overview about the main problems of Private International Law. The main objective of this course is to understand the basic principle of PIL and assume the basic method of the thinking in the framework of PIL.At the end of the course the student should be abele to interpet the simple choice of law rules and to apply these rules to the simple situation.
Syllabus
  • The history of PIL. The question "why" to apply the foreign law before the czech courts. The sources of PIL. Choice of law rules. The unification. Contracts and choice of law. Jura in re and choice of law. Overriding rules in PIL.

Self study. E-learning. Collective consultation.

Lectures. Homeworks. Written exam.
