- Course objectives
- The course builds on the problems of Introduction to Private International Law. It deals with the basic areas that the student will need to study in the field of international commercial transactions: conflict of laws of obligations, conflict of laws of non-contractual obligations, rights in rem and direct regulation. The aim is to give the student a theoretical basis for the other disciplines that form the core of the programme, such as International Business Transactions, International Jurisprudence, etc.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of this course, the student will: - will be able to understand the conflict of laws of contractual, non-contractual, substantive conflict of laws; - be able to understand the problems of the direct method; - will be able to apply his/her knowledge to simplified cases; - will be able to highlight the differences between conflict of laws and the direct method.

- 1. Kolizní problematika závazků ze smluv - Nařízení Řím I - pokračování, imperativní předpisy a další ustanovení. 2. Kolizní problematika závazků mimosmluvních - Nařízení Řím II. 3. Kolizní problematika věcných práv - ZMPS. 4. Přímá metoda. Interakce metody přímé a kolizní.

- Teaching methods
- The pilot project will test distance learning. The interactive curriculum will incorporate topics that students should master as part of the self-study. Thereafter, at designated times, tutorials will be held to check the level of understanding of the issues and to analyse practical examples that will be given to the students in advance. Self-study. Collective consultations. Use of e-learning.

- Seminar paper assigned at the first consultation. Discussion in the colloquium.
