Course objectives
The main objectives can be summarized as follows: to be introduced to legal French to learn specific features of the French administrative and legal system to get new knowledge and new communicative competences and oral skills, in particular understanding both written and spoken texts. At the end of the course students will be able to understand texts on specific topics and explain the key concepts in the following areas : Family Law, Judiciary in France, Administrative Courts, Common Courts, Civil Procedure, Judicature - Comparisons, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure. Lexis and grammar of the language for specific purposes.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to use this information in discussions on specific topics, to explain and to support their arguments. Using acquired knowledge students will be able to interpret unknown texts.

Teaching methods
interactive language seminar
Assessment methods
The work done in seminars is based on interactive teaching. The credit test checks the acquisition of terminology, understanding the content of texts and language skills closely related to legal French. Requirements: Active participation in class discussion, submitting a written assignment, final written credit test, students need to score at least 70% points.
