Prerequisites
The course is intended for those interested in human rights issues in general and with particular reference to the interpretation of the right to life, the rights of the child and the rights of sexual minorities.

Course objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skill base to:
Critical reflection on established ways of interpreting the right to life, the rights of the child and the rights of sexual minorities;
identify problems in the interpretation of the human rights in question;
developing their own argumentative strategy for dealing with human rights cases in given areas
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
define and critically evaluate the established ways of interpreting the right to life, the rights of the child and the rights of sexual minorities;
identify problems arising in the interpretation of the human rights in question;
develop their own argumentative strategies for dealing with human rights cases in given areas

  • Methodology for dealing with human rights cases
