Course objectives
The Copyright Law course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of copyright principles across international and European contexts, emphasizing the relevance and application of these laws in today's digital and globalized environment. It seeks to equip students with critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to interpret and navigate complex legal scenarios involving copyright issues. The course encourages practical engagement through presentations and participation, enabling students to articulate and defend copyright concepts clearly and effectively. Additionally, it fosters professional development by requiring the completion of a recognized introductory course and successful passing of an assessment, ensuring students are well-prepared for legal challenges in their professional careers.
Learning outcomes
In the Copyright Law course, students will gain a thorough understanding of copyright principles, including their application in international and European contexts. They will develop analytical skills to evaluate and apply copyright laws to various scenarios, enhancing their ability to present legal arguments effectively. The course includes practical requirements such as completing an introductory program under the Pan European Seal Program and passing a written test to demonstrate mastery of the content. Overall, students will emerge with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate copyright law proficiently.

Teaching methods
Lectures (seminars) are held for a minimum of 5 students. With smaller number of students attending the course, lectures are replaced with tutorials. Reading list will be given by the course co-ordinator at the fist lecture or tutorial.
Assessment methods
To pass the course, students must meet the following criteria: 1) Active participation in seminars is required, with only one absence allowed and sufficient preparation to engage with seminar content. 2) Each student must deliver a 10-minute presentation on a selected topic relevant to their jurisdiction’s legislation and case law, to be uploaded to the Homework vault by the Sunday before the seminar. 3) Completion of an introductory course under the Pan European Seal Program is necessary, with a certificate to be uploaded by March 11. 4) Finally, passing a written test with at least 60% correct answers, comprising 10 multiple-choice questions, is essential for course completion.
