Course objectives
The subject is a part of the complex of compulsory subjects from clinical fields, follows the knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, epidemiology, pharmacology, first aid and pediatrics. It is conceived as a theoretical and practical. It acquaints students with care for a healthy and ill child from birth to adulthood. It focuses on the physiological and pathological newborn, psychomotor development of the child, childhood diseases, injuries and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children. It teaches students to understand the peculiarities of childhood, the position of the child in the family and the specifics of communication with the child. It pays attention to a child disadvantaged, abused, abused and neglected. It introduces students to primary care in paediatrics and specific childcare facilities.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
to define physiological and pathological newborn and nursing care in newborns
to divide childhood and understand the peculiarities of childhood
to characterize the psychomotor development of a child in individual developmental periods
describe sudden conditions and injuries in children and their solutions
to demonstrate the correct CPR technique for children of all ages
understand the importance of nutrition in childhood
communicate with a child of all ages
to understand the position of the child in the family
to define a child disadvantaged, abused and neglected
describe childcare for children and adolescents
send specific child health facilities.
