Course objectives
At the end of the course students should understand and be able to explain, specifically and in detail, folowing areas: - The importance of lifestyle factors among other health determinants, in disease prevention and health promotion. - Main lifestyle factors, their substance and description, influence, possibilities of evaluation, recommendations - prescription, use in prevention and health promotion: Nutrition, physical activity, smoking, alcohol, psychosocial factors. Above all, they should be able to use their knowledge in intervention for lifestyle changes in patients and genereal population.

  • 1) Health and its main determinants. The importance of lifestyle, its components
  • 2) Nutrition in healthy lifestyle – part I: Basics in nutrition, main nutritional components
  • 3)Nutrition in healthy lifestyle – part II: Healthy diet, dietary guidelines
  • 4) Physical activity
  • 5) Smoking and health
  • 6) Alcohol
  • 7) Psychosocial hygiene, coping with stress
  • 8) Possibilities of lifestyle evaluation
