- Physiotherapy (programme LF, B-PHYSI)
- Course objectives
- The goal of Physiology is to explain how the human organism works, from molecular interactions to organ systems and their regulation.
- Learning outcomes
- At the successful end of the course Physiology - at the level of its study field, the student will be able to ;
describe basic functions of the human body - from cells, individual tissues, organs, systems and organism as a whole ;
explain the basic types of regulation in the human organism ;
determine the basic numerical parameters of a healthy adult human;
to apply basic physiological principles to the clinical problems of their study field - Syllabus
- Introduce to Physiology, the cell (membranous structure of the cell, organelles, morphology and function), transport of substrates through the cell, membrane potentials, resting membrane potential, and action potential. Nervous and muscular activity. Internal environment (homeostasis).
- Blood cells, immunity, blood clothing.
- The heart (anatomy, morphology, function, excitatory and conductive system of the heart).
- The cardiac cycle.
- Electrocardiography. Cardiology examination techniques.
- Myocardial infarction, heart failure, atherosclerosis. Arterial hypertension.
