Course objectives
The aim of the course is to practice the basic relationships of general and physical chemistry as well as the structures and properties of an-/organic compounds important in the follow-up subject of Biochemistry.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- understand the basics of general, inorganic and organic chemistry in the scope necessary for further study of biochemistry.
- apply general physical and chemical laws to processes in living organisms.
- describe the properties of the major biogenic elements and compounds important in medicine, nutrition, and toxicology.
- understand the chemical properties of organic and bioorganic compounds important for the understanding of biochemical processes.
