Course objectives
Students will learn the basics of microbiology and selected applications     practical knowledge in topics that is able to independently develop while working in the laboratories   business, medical and hygienic application in   the prevention of foodborne disease.
Syllabus
  • Subject matter, scope and history of the field, its position in the sciences of nutrition   Biological, biochemical characterization, viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungal organisms, their occurrence, significance for human health and food production (positive - negative). Application of microbiological methods for studying the health risks of mutagenic substances in food and the environment  . Mycotoxins as medically significant products of microorganisms showing during the production, storage and processing of food
