Course objectives
The subject is conceived as theoretical, its aim is to acquaint students with the problems of surgery, clinical conditions and diseases in surgical fields, realization nursing process for individual surgical diseases.
Learning outcomes
Student:
- will be able to identify the problems of the surgical patient / client,
- to know the causes, manifestations, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in hospital and pre-hospital emergency care, selected, most frequently occurring diseases and injuries in surgery.
- gain basic insight into the issue of war surgery.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to surgery, history and development of surgery, organization of operations, basics of examination in surgery, treatment, surgical infections, nosocomial infections.
  • Anesthesia, types of anesthesia, local and total numbness, preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care, possible complications, surgery.
  • Specifics of surgical treatment of individual body systems, inflammation and their treatment in surgery. General Traumatology, Shock, Treatment, Prevention. Traumatology of individual body systems and polytraumat. (eg traumatology of cerebral injuries, spinal traumas, stabbing, falls from a height, gunshot injuries, chest and abdominal injuries, burning - burning, etc.)
  • Treatment in hostile and hostile terrain, in unusual conditions, at wedging, , etc. Development of specialized fields. New developments in surgical disciplines.
  • Establishment and development of the field of war surgery abroad and in the Czech Republic, characterization of war surgery, phases and stages of assistance in the field, coping with a large number of wounded at the same time, a factor of constant change of situation and consequent demands to a surgeon.
