- Course objectives
- - to identify the roles of the educator; - to identify the needs of educators in the educational process; - to implement education within the framework of nursing care provided in intensive care. The course provides knowledge of the field of pedagogy and andragogy so that learners are oriented in theoretical knowledge of pedagogy and use the knowledge in their educational activities with clients, families, colleagues and others.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: - use the adult learning principles in their work; - to focus on the issue of educating patients in intensive care settings; - identify the needs of the eductor; - identify barriers in the educational process; - to respect the specific needs of the educators with regard to the diagnosis, stage of illness, age, disability, etc.; - to design and develop plans for patient education, family members and other persons; - to prepare educational materials.

- Education of patients and others. Specifics of education of children, elderly, foreigners and patients with special needs. Personality of the educator. The process of education - evaluation and assessment of the educator, assessment of educational needs. Designing education, educational goals, didactic principles, forms of education, methods of education. Drawing up educational plans taking into account the specifics of intensive care. Implementation and evaluation of the educational process in the conditions of intensive care medicine. Documentation in the educational process. Educational materials. Health literacy, adherence.
