- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Physics for Education (programme PdF, B-FY3S) (2)
- Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Physics (programme PdF, B-TV)
- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquire comprehensive knowledge of the topic Mechanics at university level. Emphasis is placed on the logical structure of this scientific discipline and on the acquisition of knowledge and skills needed for teaching physics at elementary school. For these reasons, a greater number of simple experiments are included in the lecture and the relationship of the discussed material to practice, nature, household, technical applications is emphasized etc.).
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, the student will be able to apply:
Knowledge: Comprehensive overview of knowledge on the subject of Mechanics with an emphasis on the relationship of the material discussed to practice, nature, household, technical applications, etc.
Skills: Be able to identify the principles of natural processes and technical applications. Perform a sufficient approximation based on basic physical laws and perform subsequent calculations of simple application examples. Know simple experiments and the relationship of the discussed material to practical applications. Be able to perform a qualified estimation of values.
Attitudes: Acquire the values of objectivity and the importance of scientific work. - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- lecture, numerical exercises and demonstration experiments; the lecture will take place in the form of a debate based on a previous independent study of the given topic with a subsequent summary
- Assessment methods
- Exam (written, experimental and oral) with continuous evaluation within the semester: - active work at seminars (calculation of model tasks) interim answers and written tests (min. 50% success rate) - final written and oral exam, which may include a simple school experiment (implemented or commented).
