Course objectives
Course Grammar 1B deals with English grammar at intermediate level. The main objective is to summarize and develop the students' knowledge of particular grammar points (see the Outline of the course below).
The main course book is Macmillan English Grammar In Context Intermediate. Also, students are expected to work on the corresponding units of English Grammar in Use - Fourth edition(by R. Murphy) on their own so that in classes the topics can be summarised and particular grammar points practised.
At the end of the course the students should be able to: distinguish differences between grammar structures, form complex sentences, give examples of their own, become competent users of the language.
Learning outcomes
Course Grammar 1B deals with English grammar at an intermediate level. The main objective is to summarize and develop the student's knowledge of particular grammar points (see the Outline of the course below).

At the end of the course, the students should be able to: distinguish differences between grammar structures, form complex sentences, give examples of their own, and become competent users of the language. Developing the knowledge of grammar will help students become better models of English grammar usage for their pupils and thus prepare them better for possible opportunities of teaching English to their future learners.

Teaching methods
Methods: lectures, seminar work - class, group and pairwork, homework, drills.
Assessment methods
Requirements: Continuous assessment: assigned homework (self-study, extra activities in handouts), active participation in class, progress test (50 points, no resit), journals (50 points) - pass mark 70%. Final assessment: Credit test (pass mark 70%, resits). Students will be awarded the credit after they have met all the requirements.
