- After completing the course the student will be able to: undestand the key moments of modern metaphysics, epistemology and methodology, explain the basic principles of great philosophical conceptions of the era, interpret the thoughts and reasons of major modern philosophers, interpret selected philosophical texts.

- 1. The renaissance humanism, platonism, aristotelism 2. The role of renaissance philosophy in the beginning of a modern science 3. F. Bacon: Philosophy and modern science 4. R. Descartes: Way to Cogito ergo sum 5. J. Spinoza: Pantheism 6. G. W. Leibniz: Two worlds 7. J. Locke: His epistemiology 8. G. Berkeley: His relation to Locke 9. D. Hume: His Agnosticism 10. I. Kant: His turn to subjekt 11. Fichte ang Schelling: Their relation to Kant 12. G. F. Hegel: Arbitrary idealism
