Course objectives
Absolvent of our lectures will make elementary sense about graphic design history. Our lectures are open to public (not only for students from Masaryk University).
Learning outcomes
Expertise Upon completion of the course, the student demonstrates knowledge of: • The student can explain the influence of technology on the historical development of graphic design. • the student perceives the boundary between graphic design and free art • the student understands the social role of graphic design and • • the responsibility of the graphic designer • the student can describe the role of information design in everyday life • the student can explain the concept of visual identity Professional skills Upon completion of the course, the student demonstrates the skills to: • The student can navigate the field of Graphic Design • The student finds connections between the historical development and the present in the field of graphic design • The student is aware of the interdisciplinary connections between graphic design and related disciplines • the student can discuss graphic design • the student is able to present his/her views on graphic design in writing
