Course objectives
EU educational trends for the 21st century show that informative teaching is being replaced by productive-based (creative effort and practice), heuristic-based (experimental) and regulative-based (use of digital and information technology) teaching. The programe „Biology for Life and Health“ has been launched at the biological department of the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. It is already experimentally realized in a newly created specialized working environment, as a working centre of education for sustainable, where students and teachers are enabled to work together in order to aguire new knowledges, not only through the use of multimedia, internet and libraries, but also through active confrontation with natural reality – in the biotopical garden which is maintained in correspondence to biological principles. Goal: To contribute to the evolution of the subject didactics in the theory and practice at Czech and Slovenian Universities (based on the general pedagogical theory), for better and easier training of the future elementary school science teachers.
