- Course objectives
- The seminar covers Czech poetry between the years 1945-1989 (including the inner differentiation between the years 1948 and 1968). The individual topics are presented in chronological order, selected chapters are chosen in order to maintain the notion of continuity of the literary process in this period. Individual seminars will focus on more complex wholes (e.g. groupings of poets, works similar in themes or works of an outstanding personality of the period). Students will get a deeper insight into literary trends and movements of Czech literature after the year 1945. They will be able to identify and analyse the style of outstanding personalities of Czech post-war prose and poetry.

- Teaching methods
- In the form of a seminar (analyses and interpretations of selected works), students will get a broader knowledge of Czech literature in the given period. They will be able to identify and analyze the style of outstanding personalities of Czech post-war poetry and prose. They will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills with the aim to communicate with a literary work more effectively. They will creatively use their knowledge gained not only in contact classes but also in their individual study of recommended literature which they will be able to discuss regularly with their teacher.
- Assessment methods
- Credit requirements: - preparation according to the teacher´s instructions, including its written form, - active participation and attendance( 80% ), - two oral presentations(cca 10 min.), - seminar paper.
