Course objectives
A special respect is devoted to the content analysis of the curriculum, analysis of structural components of subject matter – knowledge, skills, competences, attitudes etc. As a current issue the basic subject matter is considered, questions of transformation of field knowledge.
Syllabus
  • Topics The concept of the curriculum and its relationship to other didactic categories. Historical development of the curriculum. Structure of the curriculum, the ideological, content, organisational and methodological dimension. The European dimension of the curriculum. The content dimension of the curriculum. Curricular documents. The link between subjects and the respective fields of study. Competences in the structure of the curriculum. Multicultural aspects of the curriculum. Presentation and diagnostics of the subject matter. Curriculum and teaching methods. Planned, realised and achieved curriculum. School curriculum and hidden curriculum. Standards. Basic, exemplary and core subject matter. Framework educational programme for elementary school and school educational programe. Curriculum fo lifelong education and life in an information society.
Assessment methods
The exam takes the form of a series of consultations. A task is defined on the first consultation that concerns curriculum as well as the topic of the disertation project. The second - and possibly third - consultations are there to provide opportunities to discuss the task and its impact on the disertation project.
