Course objectives
After this course, student should be able to: - describe and explain the structure and function of human body; - practice anthropometric measurements and test-craniometry, measurement pelvic dimensions, examination of the spine; - make a simple examination of the spine mobility; - describe the hierarchical structure of the organism (cell, tissue); - understand and explain the structure and function of movement and muscle systems of the human body;
Syllabus
  • Basics of Somatometry Craniometry, pelvimetry, backbone examine. Average value and variability value of the height of students in the 4th grade of Faculty of Education in Brno – the basics of biometry. Selected Practise of Biology of Man Essential physically-chemical reactions coinciding in human body. – 1: essential physically-chemical reactions coinciding in human gody – II. Examples of digestion process. Breathing movements – differences between children, men and women. Breath frequency at rest and in tension. A minute breath capacity. Simple examine of heart fitness and blood circulation functions. A minute heart capacity. Heart rate, blood pressure values. Osmotic and oncotic pressure and its meaning in the human organism, the cause of hypertension and atherosclerosis. Methods determining the sugar in urine. Sense of taste, eyesight, sense of hearing – examines. Nerve reflexes.

Teaching methods
Teaching is through practical exercises involving working with protocols and practical challenges (anthropometric measurements, etc.).
Assessment methods
Final assessment is a written test of 40 items assessed a single point. For successful completion of this course is necessary to reach 35 points.
