The aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge of integrative   special education.

Course objectives
Students will gain basic knowledge about the problems of integration and inclusion in the current educational system in the Czech Republic and its comparison with selected educational systems abroad. In addition, they will be able to use theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful organization and teaching in the classroom integrating students with special educational needs.
Syllabus
  • Topics: 1. Historical development of approaches towards people with disabilities 2. Definitions and terminology 3. System of education with focus on integrative education 4. Legislation and education of students with special needs 5. Individual educational plan - IEP 6. Material and organisational conditions for realization of integrative education 7. Educational strategies in integrative education 8. Cooperation with parents of a student with special needs in integrative settings 9. Strategies for independent learning Detailed information for each topic are given below.
