Course objectives
Particular attention will be paid to the development of literature for children and young adults after the year 1989: - problem of triviality in contemporary literature for children and youth - Czech and translated literature for children and youth after 1989 - main genres in contemporary literature for children and youth - main topics in contemporary literature for children and youth
Syllabus
  • The course will pay attentio to literature for children and youth after 1989: - genre orientation - analysis of some contemporary piece of literature for children and youth(specific features) - contemporary developments trends of literature for choldren and youth - secondary literature of the subject

Teaching methods
Consultations: Students will get in classes and in individual study insight into the knowledge of history of literature for children and youth and into specific nature of the poetics of individual literary movements. Specific individual study - reading of books for children and youth Interpretation of texts - oral and written form of work Consultations will be devoted to developing their literary knowledge and interpretational skills.
Assessment methods
Course completition: credit Requirements: Knowledge of the contemporary state of children’s literature and knowledge of primary and secondary literature - oral way - mini lectures. In written: Review of one book for children published after 2006.
