Course objectives
The goal of the subject is explaining the structure of contemporary Czech vocabulary so that the students are able to analyse the vocabulary of the text.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able:

- to understand the Czech lexical and semantic relations explained in the vocabulary;
- to use the information to analyse the vocabulary of the text;
- on the basis of acquired knowledge to derive and unknown context.

  • 1. Lexikology as linguistic discipline. Parts of lexikology.
  • 2. Lexical system, Methods of lexikology.
  • 3. Word - sign - semantics of words.
  • 4. Classification of the Czech vocabulary.
  • 5. Lexicon of Czech language.
  • 6. Development and broading of the Czech vocabulary.
