Course objectives
Practice and fixation of printing and writing form of Russian alphabet, pronunciation, and intonation. Improvement of reading and listening skills, and basic oral and written expressions. Introduction to new lexical stock and basics of Russian grammar. Work with CDs and DVDs.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to use both writing and printing forms of Cyrillic alphabet and understand basic life situations. Conducts dialogue on the simplest topics, masters basic vocabulary and understands basic grammatical phenomena.

Teaching methods
Instruction - two-hour seminary. Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate lexical excercises and essays during the study. Students work individually. Materials for students will be located on information system from the beginning of semester. They continuously read Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Written credit (1st to 5th Textbook of contemporary Russian). You need to reach at least 75% to succeed. The test is written in the exam period, the pre-term is possible only in the so-called "credit week", earlier completion is not possible. Attendance is not mandatory. Compulsory homework is required to pass the test.

The course offers the acquisition of a solid foundation of the Russian language. Students can use the mobile application "Interactive Russian Copybook" to practice writing Cyrillic, which can be downloaded from Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.reinto.ipr_android.
