- Course objectives
- The course prepares nursery school teachers to develop children's information thinking. The aim is to prepare teachers for what methods and procedures they can use to support information thinking in relation to mathematical literacy. The student should generally understand the meaning of digital technology, be able to use digital technology to support the development of children's skills to play and learn.
- Learning outcomes
- After graduating the subject, the student should:
- to be able to use the knowledge of developmental psychology in planning children's activities with digital technologies;
- understand the importance of developing algorithmic thinking;
- to be able to methodologically process specific activity leading to the development of information thinking;
- present the processed activity within the seminar;
- know and observe the principles of safety and hygiene at work with technology;
- suggest the use of interactive whiteboard and interactive elements in pre-school education;
- practically create and present interactive learning materials;
- manage the basics of working with interactive elements and the preparation of teaching aids;
- effectively use multimedia learning materials. - Syllabus
- 1. Digital technologies - Internet usage in the work of the teacher of the kindergarten, interactive boards in kindergartens, tablets and other touch devices in the kindergarten, other multimedia facilities in the kindergarten.
- 2. Algorithms in everyday life.
- 3. Possibilities of development of algorithmic thinking.
- 4. Cross-curricular relations - mathematical programmability (development of spatial orientation).
- 5. Software for children.
- 6. Children's programming languages.
- 7. Digital and robotic toys.
- 8. Teaching methods and forms using digital technologies.
- 9. Safe work with digital technologies at kindergarten.
- 10. Digital technologies in the life of kindergarten - organization of managed activities with digital technologies in groups, digital corner, own pupils' creation using digital technologies.
