- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at the intermediate Level. The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes intermediate supplemented by various additional materials.Throughout the semester students will be encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks. At the end of the course students are going to be able to a) discuss everyday topics; b) communicate in everyday situations; c) read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level and d) communicate in the language fluently.
- Learning outcomes
- The student: - ´s language level is B1 in both spoken and written language; - has learned about the way learning centers and learner autonomy work in the lessons; - has read a book/a part of a book in English and has worked on his/her journal.
- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes INTERMEDIATE (Student's book), see Literature bellow. The syllabus includes Units 1 to 4, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and development of students' vocabulary. 1st/2nd/3rd lesson - placement test results analysis, Unit 1: First class 4/5th lesson - Unit 2: Feelings 6th lesson - Video based lesson 7th lesson - Progress test 8/9th lesson - Unit 3: Time off 10/11th lesson - Unit 4: Interests 12th lesson - Video based lesson 13th lesson - Final test Oral test is in the exam period.

- Requirements: Maximum number of points per semester: 100 Pass mark: 70 (part of this sum is also the final written and oral test, students must obtain at least 70% for these final tests - if not: two resits of the final test are offered) Written test: 40 points Oral test: 30 points; Progress test: 10 points. Other types of continuous assessment: 20 points FURTHER INFORMATION ON POINTS: PROGRESS TEST: 100-95% 10 POINTS 94-85% 8 POINTS 84-75% 6 POINTS 74-70% 4 POINTS LESS THAN 70% 2 POINTS
