- Course objectives
- Its aim is to improve and extend basic skills essential for comprehending various scientific sources of information, and develop the listening, speaking and writing skills, both in general as well as specialized Russian language.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students will be able to: - understand listening texts at B1 level; - understand texts at B1 level; - give a presentation on a familiar topic; - understand selected grammar at B1 level.

- Topics: 1. study: goals, planning, motivation 2. Education system in the world and RF: news and tendencies 3. Alternative methodologies in education. 4. 4. Problems in schools. Grammar: morphology and syntax, writing short texts and formal letters - B1 level

- Seminars, group work, short written texts, group project; short oral presentations.
- Assessment methods
- In order to pass the course, students must have attendance (absence of only 2 hours), active participation and completion of homework assignments, as well as pass the midterm assessment (70%) and the final oral exam (30%). Midterm assessment: independent grammar practice (odpovědníky), work with audio and video materials, mini-presentations, writing assignments, group work, activity preparation. The student must achieve a total of 65% or more provided that he/she passes all parts of the continuous assessment in order to be able to take the final exam. Oral exam (30%): presentation on assigned topic + discussion. The final grade is calculated from a maximum of 100 points.
