Course objectives
The aim is to acquaint students with the knowledge in the area of diagnostics and the realization of therapeutic procedures in selected forms of impaired communication ability, students will become acquainted with the possibilities of working with family, school and other professionals within a comprehensive approach.
Learning outcomes
• The student knows the classification, etiology and symptomatology of selected forms of impaired communication ability; • • is oriented in the diagnostic approaches and methods in selected forms of impaired communication skills; • • knows the therapeutic approaches and the potential of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Syllabus
  • • Selected forms of impaired communication skills - definition, etiology, diagnosis, therapy. Articulation disorders, practical training of syllable production. Dysarthria, dysphagia, voice disorders, specifics of care in children and adults with a focus on therapeutic procedures. Developmental language disorder and mutism - specifics of the diagnostic process in preschool and younger school age. Impaired communication ability as a special educational need, possibilities of support. Possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation.
