Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain basic knowledge about general zoology: (1) relaion between structure and function of animal cells; (2) fundamentals of histology; (3) principles of histogenesis; (4) fundamentals of embryology; (5) fundamentals of organology.

  • 1. Histology I – animal tissues (dividing), histognesis and intercellular materials
  • 2. Histology II – epithelial tissues I: structure approach
  • 3. Histology III – epithelial tissues II: function approach
  • 4. Histology IV – connective tissues I - fibrous tissues, cartilages
  • 5. Histology V – connective tissues II – bone tissues, blood tissues
  • 6. Histologie VI - muscle tissues
  • 7. Histologie VII – nerval tissues
  • 8. Reproduction - sexual and asexual, onthogenesis of animals
  • 9. Embryology I - embryogenesis
  • 10. Embryology II: organogenesis and postembryogenesis
  • 11. Organology I: skin, skeleton and muscle systems
  • 12. Organology II: digestive and excretory systems
  • 13. Organologie III: body control systems
  • 14. Organologie IV: reproductive systems

Teaching methods
Lectures in the form of PPT-presentation with explanations
Assessment methods
Examination (the first phase) is carried out with help of simple (abcd) written tests (it is necessary to answer correctly at least 14 from 18 questions!). However, successful passing of credit from practices (ZOZL) is prerequisite for submition to testing.
