Course objectives
The follow-up of the class Basic of Russian language I. Students continue in learning and improvement of Russian phonetics, spelling and orthography, and develop reading skills and understanding of written texts, listening skills by means of listening to original Russian texts, and oral and writing skills. In seminars students are introduced by means of video recordings to Russian history and culture; part of the seminar is devoted to reading and translation from Russian magazines and the Internet.

  • Lesson 15.-21. of the Russian exercise book is of teach-yourself type. Additional text from Russian magazines and the Internet are provided. Topics: Hotel. Travelling around the city/town. Housing. Food. Shopping. Health.

Teaching methods
Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate lexical excercises and essays during the study. Students work individually and they also cooperate in group projects. They continuously read Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Writting test and oral discission (russian language). Discussion with the teacher will be held. The discussion will be based on the topics from the course, the reading (Russian book - 80- 100 p., the student will bring and show the book, and listening (audio, video, DVD). The student will also provide a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least fifty new words.Written tests and oral exam. Credit course, active participation, homeworks.
